Dave Grohl admitted to cheating on his wife and fathering a child out of wedlock.

In a brutal but honest post on Instagram, the 55-year-old Foo Fighters frontman revealed that he welcomed a baby girl on Tuesday, September 10, outside of his marriage to Jordyn Blum.

“I recently became the father of a new baby daughter, born out of wedlock,” Grohl shared in a statement. “I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am committed to doing everything in my power to earn their trust and forgiveness.”

He concluded his message by saying, “We are grateful for your attention to all the children involved as we move forward together.”

Grohl and Blum tied the knot more than 20 years ago in an August 2003 wedding ceremony at their Los Angeles home. The couple has three children (all girls): Violet, born in 2006; Harper, born in 2009; and Ophelia, born in 2014.

Before becoming a rock star’s wife, Blum was a model, appearing on the cover of Teen and other campaigns. She was reportedly discovered at the age of 12 in a grocery store.

After her modeling stint, Blum became a producer at MTV, where she eventually met her famous future husband, according to Spin.

Dave Grohl ignored Jordyn Blum after they met in 2001:

The Foo Fighter revealed that he met Blum in 2001 at the iconic Sunset Marquis Whiskey Bar in West Hollywood. However, things weren’t going well at first.

“When I first met my wife, we went on a few dates and I decided I wasn’t ready for a serious relationship, so I just stopped calling,” Grohl revealed in a 2017 interview with ELLE.

Months later he changed his mind.

“After three months, I had an epiphany and called her back. She picked up the phone and said, ‘Oh, I never thought I’d ever hear from you again,’” he shared.

The former MTV employee used her music knowledge to collaborate with the Foo Fighters on multiple occasions, even appearing in the band’s music video, “White Limo.”

The video features Blum with late Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister. She also used her expertise to direct the Foo Fighters’ 2002 video for “Walking a Line.”

Jordyn Blum suffered a medical emergency while Dave Grohl was on TV:

Blum was rushed to the hospital after her appendix burst while Grohl was hosting “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” He later revealed his wife’s medical emergency during a conversation with Kimmel in an August 2018 appearance.

“It’s true,” Grohl told the late-night host. “I got a text from her, ‘I’m not feeling great.’ Then I walked offstage and she said, ‘I’m on my way to the hospital to get my appendix out.'”

Despite his busy schedule, Grohl did not miss her surgery.

“I ran over there and got there in time. She’s amazing,” he explained.

Jordyn Blum was at Wimbledon with Dave Grohl months before the baby bombshell:

Blum made a rare appearance alongside her husband at the Wimbledon tennis tournament in July 2024, just two months before he dropped the baby bombshell. The couple sat in Royal Box seats alongside several A-listers, including retired soccer star David Beckham.

There was no indication that there was any trouble in paradise during the event.
