It’s time for the biggest television evening, albeit for the second time this year.

The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards are being handed out tonight in Los Angeles and all eyes are on who will take home the coveted trophies.

The second Emmy Awards of 2024 will come just eight months after the 75th Primetime Emmys on Fox, which were postponed from September 2023 due to writers’ and actors’ strikes.

The awards will be presented by a stellar line-up of presenters, including Selena Gomez, Matt Bomer, Viola Davis, Colin Farrell, Lily Gladstone, Mindy Kaling, Jimmy Kimmel, Steve Martin, Martin Short, Nicola Coughlan and Kristen Wiig.

Here’s what you need to know about television’s biggest night.

Who will host the 2024 Emmy Awards?

Eugene Levy and Dan Levy of “Schitt’s Creek” will host this year’s awards show, making history as the first father-son duo to do so, according to the Television Academy.

“For two Canadians who won our Emmys in a literal quarantine tent, the idea of being asked to present in an actual theatre this year was motivation enough,” the duo said in a statement announcing their performance. “We’re thrilled to raise a glass to this extraordinary season of television and can’t wait to spend the evening with all of you.”

Emmy Nominees 2024

With 25 nominations, FX’s “Shōgun” tops the list with the most nominations, with FX’s restaurant dramedy “The Bear” following closely behind with 23. It’s worth noting that “The Bear” is only nominated for its second season in 2023, not the third that aired in June. Third on the list is Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building” with 21 nominations. HBO’s “True Detective: Night Country” rounds out the list with 19 nominations.

The 2024 Emmy Awards eligibility dates apply to shows that aired between June 1, 2023, and May 31, 2024. Only shows that aired during that 12-month period are nominated.
