Wheel of Fortune is not for the faint of heart, as evidenced by a participant named Vivian is devastating mistake during an “easy” Bonus Round puzzle.

On Monday, September 16, Vivian won the popular game show co-hosted by Ryan Seacrest And Vanna WhiteHowever, as can be seen from a clip shared on Wheel of Fortune on her social media accounts, she narrowly missed reaching the million dollars.

Vivian won $1 million during a puzzle in the regular round. This means that $1 million was added as a potential prize for her Bonus Round puzzle.

For the bonus round, she chose several letters correctly, in addition to the standard letter “RSTLNE”. (She also had a joker with which she could guess an extra letter.)

The sign read: “_ _ _ERING S _ ME HELP.”

Vivian guessed incorrectly: “order help,” “answer help,” and “find help,” as the 10-second clock ticked away.

When time was up, the correct answer appeared: “OFFERING SOME HELP.” Then Seacrest made the heartbreaking revelation.

“And Vivian…” Seacrest said solemnly before showing her the $1 million card and then turning to show it to the audience.

Meanwhile, Vivian stood speechless for a while, her mouth open in disbelief.

“You were so close to that million dollars. You almost had it,” Seacrest said sympathetically. “Are you okay?”

“I’m fine,” she assured him, still processing what had happened.

On Instagram, one viewer reacted to the devastating loss: “I felt so awful for Vivian😢.”

Another Instagram user lamented: “This is a heartbreaking loss for a million dollars,” while someone else exclaimed: “Nooooooooooooooooooooo!” before adding: “Vivian you were amazing! Keep your head up and don’t drop this 👑.”

Meanwhile, an X (formerly Twitter) user wrote: “That poor woman on Wheel of Fortune was so close to winning a million dollars, oh my god.”

A more critical viewer shared via X: “THERE IS NO WAY SHE MISSED THAT EASY PUZZLE! And the prize was 1 MILLION DOLLARS!!! WHAT!!!!!”

Although she didn’t win the $1 million, the good news was that Vivian didn’t go home empty-handed. She still took home $27,300 and a trip to Europe.
