Tay initially caused concern when her verified Instagram account shared a message that read, “Please pray for Tay. We will keep you updated as more information becomes available.”

The following day, another post was uploaded to her Instagram channel and verified X (formerly Twitter) account, reading: “Tay is currently in serious condition in intensive care,” alongside an image of a hospital and a sign with an arrow pointing to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

Three hours later, a third update was shared to her accounts, stating that “Tay has been diagnosed with a life-threatening heart tumor.” The post included a video of what appeared to be an image of a heart on a monitor.

Her attorney Kenneth Kenneth L. Kraus declined to comment on her current health.

Lil Tay previously made headlines in August 2023 when she was involved in a death hoax. At the time, a statement was shared on her Instagram stating that she and her half-brother Jason Tian had died.
