It’s inevitable that the Raiders will trade receiver Davante Adams. So what will they get for him?

According to a source with knowledge of the situation, they want a second round. (Not a package that includes a second-round pick; a second-round pick.) We’ve heard unconfirmed rumors (for now) that the Jets have offered a pair of fourth-round picks. (Again, that’s not confirmed.)

One factor, as previously mentioned, will be the amount of Adams’ remaining salary that the Raiders will pay. At $983,333 a week, he is $13.13 million in debt. The more the Raiders pay, the more they can get in trade compensation.

Despite all this, the clock is ticking. The sooner Adams gets to his next team, the better. The sooner the Raiders get rid of his salary, the better. Regardless of whether they pay to facilitate a transaction, they will be paying almost $1 million per week for as long as this continues.

Besides the Jets, it’s unclear if there are or will be any other teams in the mix. The more teams, the better the deal – in theory.

Either way, an agreement will be reached sometime before November 5. It serves the interests of all parties to get it done.
