Nebraska looks to bounce back in Week 5 as it hits the road for the first time this college football season.

The Cornhuskers (3-1, 0-1 in Big Ten play) travel to West Lafayette, Indiana on Saturday for an afternoon kickoff against Purdue (1-2, 0-0) at Ross-Ade Stadium. Matt Rhule’s team won the then-Big Ten West Division game 31-14 in Lincoln last year.

Led by freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola, Nebraska is coming off a 31-24 overtime loss to Illinois last week. The loss dropped Nebraska from both the American LBM Coaches and AP Top 25 polls.

Purdue has canceled each of its last two games, with the most recent coming last week at Oregon State in Week 5. In that 38-21 loss to the Beavers, Boilermakers running back Devin Mockobee ran for 168 yards and a touchdown. Mockobee ranks ninth in the Big Ten in rushing yards at 276 this season.

Sam King prediction: Nebraska 30, Purdue football 20

The Boilermakers are rebounding in terms of competitiveness, but there are three data games (or four in Nebraska’s case) that show these teams aren’t playing at the same level right now.

Until Purdue’s defense shows it can control the lead and not get cut up for big plays outside the tackles, it’s hard to believe the Boilers will beat anyone. If it’s more of the same Saturday, Nebraska’s run game, which is not a strength, could get a boost.

CHANCES: Nebraska -10
