    Watch Sabrina Carpenter Perform ‘Taste’ and ‘Espresso’ at the 2024 MTV VMAs

    Sabrina Carpenter gave a performance that was literally out of this world at the MTV Video Music Awards on Wednesday night.

    After being introduced by legendary singer Cyndi Lauper, Carpenter performed some of her biggest hits of the summer, including “Please Please Please,” “Taste” and “Espresso.”

    Dressed in a silver, glittering outfit, the artist began her performance from the air on a swing with “Taste.” After being lowered to the stage, Carpenter was joined by an alien and an astronaut as they danced around a set that resembled the moon in space.

    She later kissed the alien on stage and was greeted by an entourage of astronauts, who all danced in unison for the rest of the performance as she sang “Espresso” and “Please Please Please.”

    The singer was also nominated for six VMAs during Wednesday’s ceremony, including artist of the year, song of the year for “Espresso,” best pop artist, best director and best art direction for “Please Please Please” and best editing for “Espresso.”

    Carpenter has enjoyed new success this year, most notably with the release of her latest album Short and sweet last month, which eventually became the first No. 1 album of her career on the Billboard 200 chart. She also had three songs reach the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, including “Espresso”, “Taste” and “Please Please Please” (which also became her first No. 1 single).
