VP Harris advocates for small businesses and homebuyers in a speech in Las Vegas

A rousing welcome for Vice President Kamala Harris at the World Market on Sunday evening.

Harris wasted no time in challenging her Republican opponent, former President Donald Trump. “I’m trying to debate Donald Trump again. I think we need to debate again. The American people have the right to hear us debate the issues as you say in Las Vegas. I’m all in. I’m all in,” the cheering crowd shouted.

The party faithful and the admittedly undecided gathered at the World Market Center to listen to the woman vying for their vote. “To be honest, I don’t want him to win. He does nothing but lie,” Donna Higley said. Damien Pada, who traveled from California to hear Harris, says he drove to Las Vegas in hopes of reaching a decision. “I’m just trying to make sure my decision is informed,” he explained.

Harris took advantage of the moment in front of her. She seized on what she said marks a stark contrast between her and former President Donald Trump. “You remember our first debate, I talked about issues like lowering the cost of living, investing in small businesses, protecting reproductive freedom and keeping our nation safe. But from Donald Trump, it was the same old, tired playbook with no plan for how he would meet the needs of the American people. Well folks, it’s time to turn the page,” she told the crowd.

Harris touted giving first-time homebuyers $25,000 for a down payment and small businesses $50,000 to get started as ways she wants to help everyday Americans get a hand up instead of a handout.

Her visit, just 37 days before the election, also served as a political pep rally with a call to action to encourage others to vote for a pledge to fight to the finish.
