Voters’ panel responds to Vance’s clash with debate moderators, microphone interruption: ‘You’re fact-checking me’

A focus group of Republicans, Democrats and independents responded to former President Trump Senator J.D. Vance’s microphone being turned off during CBS News’ vice presidential debate Tuesday night.

Independent and Republican voters disapproved of the interjection, but independent voters dropped significantly when Vance began explaining his position.

Despite CBS announcing it would not allow live fact-checking during the debate, moderator Margaret Brennan stepped in to correct Vance after he suggested that illegal immigrants are an overwhelming amount of public resources in the debate. Springfield, OH.

“The rules were you weren’t allowed to fact check,” Vance reminded them. “And since you’re fact-checking me, I think it’s important to say what’s really going on.”

When Walz tried to intervene, independent approval also waned for a brief moment.

While explaining the process of obtaining legal status and tying it to immigration policies supported by Harris, the moderators spoke again about Vance and thanked him for “describing the legal process” before turning off his microphone as the Democratic governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, tried to do that. argue with him.
