Possible gang activity was captured on surveillance camera at a Colorado apartment building after a former resident said lack of accountability prevented police from helping.

The video shows several men, armed with handguns and one with a rifle with a scope, breaking through the door of the apartment complex for unknown reasons.

The group appears to be Tren de Aragua, or TdA, a transnational gang based in Venezuela. The gang, which reportedly has 5,000 members, has as its motto “really until the death” or “really hasta la muerte.”

According to a report from the New York Post, TdA has now been linked to more than 100 crimes across the country.

Aurora City Councilmember Danielle Jurinsky said in an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital that “there is, without a doubt, sex trafficking” associated with TdA’s activities in the city.

“This is organized. They’re visibly patrolling the property with weapons, like they’re not trying to hide them. There’s no repercussions. These are ghosts,” said one resident who spoke to Fox News Digital anonymously.

According to this resident, the gang was also seen dealing drugs in the same apartment complex.

The resident, who moved out of the foreclosed apartment building on Wednesday afternoon with the help of City Councilwoman Danielle Jurinsky and congressional candidate John Fabbricatore, told Fox News Digital that “I literally had to borrow money from everyone I know to buy a new place. And it was all the money I had.”

She also credits Fox News for moving her out of the troubled complex. She says, “With the help of Fox News, they put us in touch with City Councilwoman Danielle Jurinsky. She pulled together all the resources to help us and get us out of there.”

The Aurora Police Department released a statement through X saying, “We believe the reports of TdA influence in Aurora are isolated.”

Denver police told FOX 31 on Wednesday that they were “not aware” of any gang takeovers of apartments in the area.

“There’s no safety net for you because the police don’t come. They say, ‘Stay inside and lock your doors.’ I have to work! I paid rent, these people don’t pay rent at all. I’ve been paying rent every month for years,” the resident told Fox News Digital.

In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, Aurora City Councilmember Danielle Jurinsky said, “It’s a huge effort throughout the Denver metropolitan area to get anyone, the media and other elected officials, to acknowledge this trend and that there is a problem at all.”

“I hope (the police) do something because they could have helped me get out. Literally. Their answer was, ‘Have you ever thought about moving?’ That’s what they said when I was like, and I started crying,” the resident recalled.

“There is no help coming for us. The police have left. They are not on our side.”
