    The UTEP Miners usher in the Scotty Walden era as Nebraska begins a season of high expectations on national television Saturday in Lincoln.

    UTEP has 65 new players on its 115-player roster, with many of the expected starters making the jump from the second-tier Football Championship Subdivision to the higher FBS. That level doesn’t get much higher than Nebraska’s Big 10.

    The Cornhuskers, on the other hand, bring in an experienced team looking to build on a 5-7 2023 that signaled big things. It all starts Saturday in Lincoln for both teams.
