It seems like people are really eager to read the next installment in the Nikki series.

As shared on social media platform X, over 12 million people have already pre-registered for Infinity Nikki, the “cozy open-world adventure” follow-up to the highly successful mobile dress-up game series.

Infinity Nikki is being led by PaperGames, with Kentaro Tominaga – who you may recognize from his time at Nintendo – leading the project. Tominaga’s other credits include designer on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and director of the Expansion Pass, to name just two.

The Infinity Nikki team shared the game’s latest milestone and thanked everyone who has signed up so far. They wrote, “Look, a pair of sky-lovers are carrying Nikki with their blessings through the vast sky. Thank you to all the stylists for your support and enthusiasm!”

It said that there will be “more surprises ahead” and that we should all “strive for the next goal together.” That next goal will be 20 million pre-registrations, which will reward the community with a 4-star outfit.

For more context on the excitement surrounding pre-registration, Niko’s Daniel Ahmed noted that the previous game in the series was downloaded over 100 million times.

We still don’t have a release date for Infinity Nikki, but when it does, it will be available on PlayStation and PC, in addition to Android and iOS devices. In the meantime, you can sign up for the Infinity Nikki playtest here.
