This is the UFC 307 live blog for Jose Aldo vs. Mario Bautista, the main card fight this Saturday in Salt Lake City.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest fighters of all time, Aldo is a longtime WEC and UFC featherweight champion and one of the pioneers of MMA in the lower weight divisions. After losing his UFC title in 2017, many thought this could be the end of Aldo’s career, but instead “The King of Rio” made the move to bantamweight, where he continued to rack up notable wins as he turns 40 birthday is approaching. After a brief retirement from MMA, Aldo returned to the UFC earlier this year to defeat rising contender Jonathan Martinez and now has another tough task against the rising Bautista.

Bautista, currently No. 11 in the UFC bantamweight rankings, enters the biggest fight of his career on a five-fight winning streak that includes a unanimous decision victory over Ricky Simon in January. The MMA Lab product hopes to establish himself as a legitimate 135-pound title threat with a win over one of the greatest ever.
