Trevor Lawrence turns 25 with a career-best performance

Lawrence completed eight passes of 12 or more yards on Sunday. His 85-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. gave the Jaguars a 10-7 lead with 7:12 left in the second quarter. His 61-yarder against wide receiver Christian Kirk came in the fourth quarter and set up a four-yard touchdown pass to tight end Brenton Strange, giving the Jaguars a 27-17 lead with 9:59 remaining.

“It felt good to connect with some of them this week,” Lawrence said. “I felt like we had a great plan and we had some opportunities on those shots. It all worked out. We had the right looks. The guys did a good job winning from the outside.”

Kirk said: “Nobody deserves it more. He’s weathering the storm; he’s not blinking an eye, and we all have the utmost confidence in the world that he’ll come out here and play one of those games. I’m grateful he did and if he does that, good things will happen for us. I know it’s great for him and his confidence and for the confidence of the team, that he’s going to lead us and take us where we want to go.”

Lawrence completed 10 of 12 passes in the fourth quarter for 117 yards and a touchdown on Sunday. The Jaguars drove 39 yards in eight plays on their final possession, with kicker Cam Little converting a 49-yard field goal with :17 left.

Lawrence completed three of three passes for 34 yards on the drive, including a 14-yard completion to Kirk that moved the Jaguars into field goal range.
