ForbesToday’s NYT ‘Connections’ Tips and Answers for Saturday, September 14

Hey guys! I hope you are having a great weekend. I found out yesterday that one of my closest family members just got engaged, which made my month. Very happy for both of them.

Today News from the New York Times Connections hints and answers coming soon.

How to play connections

Connections is a free, popular New York Times daily word game. You get a new puzzle every day at midnight. You can play on the News from the New York Times website or Games app.

You are presented with a grid of 16 words. Your task is to sort them into four groups of four by finding the connections between them. The groups can be things like clickable items, names of participants in a research study, or words preceded by a body part.

There is only one solution to each puzzle, and you have to be careful with words that fit into more than one category. You can shuffle the words to see if there are any connections between the words.

Each group is color coded. The yellow group is usually the easiest to figure out, blue and green fall in the middle, and the purple group is usually the hardest. The purple group often includes puns.

Select four words that you think go together and press Submit. If you guess incorrectly, you lose a life. If you’re close to a correct group, you may see a message that you’re one word away from the correct word, but you still have to figure out which one to swap.

If you make four mistakes, it’s game over. Let’s make sure that doesn’t happen with some hints, and if you’re really struggling, the Connections answers. As with Wordle and other similar games you can easily share the results with your friends via social media and group chats.

What are the answers to today’s questions about connections?

Spoiler alert! Do not scroll further down the page until you are ready to view today’s information. Connections answers.

This is your final warning!

Today Connections answers are…

  • Yellow group — stay (HOUSES, RESIDENCE, LIVING, STAYING)
  • Green Group — decrease (DECREASE, REDUCTION, DECREASE, EBB)
  • Blue Group — Sucker (CLOWN, DWEEB, SAP, TURKEY)
  • Purple Group — member of a septet (DWARF, SEA, SIN, WONDER)

I’m winning again with a perfect match after losing six matches in a row.

DECLINE and EBB opened the door to the greens, while DWELL and INHABIT did the same for the yellows. The blues were then fairly easy to piece together after I made the connection between DWEEB and SAP. When only the purple words remained, I felt the connection was clear.

That’s all there is to do today Connections clues and answers. Make sure to check out my blog for hints and the solution for Monday’s game if you need them.
