ForbesToday’s NYT ‘Connections’ tips and answers for Monday, September 30

Hey, everyone! If you can believe it (I can’t), we’re already three-quarters of the way through 2024. Meanwhile, in case you’re wondering how my week is going, I bought a ticket for a show on Sunday months ago and am forgotten until after the event. Sigh.

Today NYT Connections hints and answers emerge immediately.

Play connections

Connections is a free, popular New York Times daily word game. Every day you get a new puzzle at midnight. You can play on the NYT website or Games app.

You will be shown a grid of 16 words. Your job is to divide them into four groups of four by discovering the connections between them. The groups can be things like clickable items, names for study participants, or words preceded by a body part.

There is only one solution to each puzzle, and you have to be careful when it comes to words that fit into more than one category. You can play the words in any order so you might see the connections between them.

Each group has a color code. The yellow group is usually the easiest to figure out, blue and green fall in the middle, and the purple group is usually the most difficult. The purple group often uses puns.

Select four words that you think go together and press Send. If you make a guess and you’re wrong, you lose a life. When you’re close to the right group, you might see a message saying you’re just one word away from the right group, but you still need to figure out which one to swap.

If you make four mistakes, the game is over. Let’s make sure this doesn’t happen with some tips and, if you’re really struggling, today’s information Connections answers. As in Word and other similar games, it’s easy to share results with your friends on social media and group chats.

I started off so well by immediately identifying the blues, despite the FAST/QUICK distraction. But a guess of RINSE, FLAMMING, SHAPE and CONDITION was a long way off. However, I got the purple group next.

However, it all went downhill from there, as I had never heard of LATHER in the context of the yellows and I just didn’t understand the greens. I blame it on my annoyance at completely forgetting about that show I had a ticket for.

Oh well. Tomorrow marks the start of a new winning streak.

That’s all it takes for today Connections clues and answers. Be sure to check out my blog for tips and the solution for Wednesday’s game if you need it.

PS No big story about this. It’s simply one of my favorite songs (especially this time of year) and I wanted to share it. I hope you enjoy it too:
