Hey, people! Before we start, I must apologize. In yesterday’s guide, I initially included all the answers when I first revealed the group names. That should be the final clue. I’m really sorry that I ruined yesterday’s match for anyone. That sucks and it comes entirely from my shoulders. No excuses.

I don’t take it lightly that so many people read this column every day. Your trust is important to me and I will try not to make that mistake again. (Thank you to those of you who contacted me to inform me of my mistake.)

Still, I hope you’re having a fantastic week. I’m obsessed with the new alarm clock that Nintendo announced out of the blue. It seems both delicious and completely unnecessary, so of course I immediately ordered one.

Anyway, let’s get on with the show. Today NYT Connections hints and answers emerge immediately.

Play connections

Connections is a free, popular New York Times daily word game. Every day you get a new puzzle at midnight. You can play on the NYT website or Games app.

You will be shown a grid of 16 words. Your job is to divide them into four groups of four by discovering the connections between them. The groups can be things like clickable items, names for study participants, or words preceded by a body part.

There is only one solution to each puzzle, and you have to be careful when it comes to words that fit into more than one category. You can play the words in any order so you might see the connections between them.

Each group has a color code. The yellow group is usually the easiest to figure out, blue and green fall in the middle, and the purple group is usually the most difficult. The purple group often uses puns.

Select four words that you think go together and press Send. If you make a guess and you’re wrong, you lose a life. When you’re close to the right group, you might see a message saying you’re just one word away from the right group, but you still need to figure out which one to swap.

If you make four mistakes, the game is over. Let’s make sure this doesn’t happen with some tips and, if you’re really struggling, today’s information Connections answers. As in Word and other similar games, it’s easy to share results with your friends on social media and group chats.

A second perfect game in a row gives me five wins in a row. Here’s how I fared:

This was one of those grids that made me grin as soon as I saw it. Sixteen three-letter words. Okay then!

Yet I didn’t have much trouble with that at all. The blues immediately caught my attention, and while FLY may have been a diversion, I had my first group.

The yellow ones were next. I say RAD all the time, so that helped me get the greens and leave the purples for another win.

I really wanted to use a very appropriate Bill & Ted supercut for the green clue, but I couldn’t find one that quite worked, dude. You can definitely enjoy this:
