Titans quarterback Will Levis leaves with shoulder injury vs. Dolphins

Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis left Monday’s game against the Miami Dolphins in the first quarter with a shoulder injury.

Levis dove down for a first down on Tennessee’s second drive of the game and appeared to land hard on his right throwing shoulder. Backup Mason Rudolph replaced Levis, who entered the blue medical tent and was listed as questionable to return.

Levis completed 3 of 4 passes and threw an interception on the Titans’ opening drive. The second-year quarterback has now thrown six interceptions, tying him with Colts QB Anthony Richardson for the most interceptions in the NFL this season. Levis has also lost three fumbles.

Tennessee head coach Brian Callahan told ESPN sideline reporter Laura Rutledge that the team would evaluate Levis in the locker room at halftime.

“If he can play, he’ll go,” Callahan said.

When the Titans offense took the field in the third quarter, Rudolph remained at quarterback. Levis never came back.

The Titans, who entered Week 4 looking for their first win, scored on seven of Rudolph’s 11 drives. He went 9 of 17 passing for 85 yards as Tennessee defeated Miami 31-12 to improve to 1-3.

Despite Rudolph’s success, Callahan said he remains committed to Levis as his starting quarterback when he’s healthy. Levis, who is suspected of having an AC joint injury, will undergo an MRI on his shoulder, according to NFL Media.
