MISSOULA — Moisture will move into western Montana today, bringing scattered thunderstorms this afternoon and evening, primarily in areas along and south of the I-90 corridor.

Some storms could produce gusts between 50 mph and 60 mph. The severe storms are expected along a line roughly south and east of Stevensville.

After this, high pressure will quickly return for the remainder of the week and into the coming weekend, keeping temperatures in the 80s and 90s with sunny and foggy conditions.

Looking long term, models show the ridge will break off next Wednesday. This will open the door for cooler, wet weather. Stay tuned for updates on this.
