Saturday night may be Southern New England’s best chance to see the Northern Lights since May.

There will be clear skies across southern New England, and geomagnetic storm activity is expected to peak Saturday evening from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.

The k-index is expected to reach 7, which will give New Englanders a chance to see the Northern Lights.

The best way to see the Northern Lights is to get away from the city lights and look north. The darker the sky, the greater the chance of seeing the aurora.
