The first trailer for Amazon’s Australian female-led remake of The Office is out – and fans don’t know what to think.

In the short clip, which you can watch below, we’re introduced to the latest Michael Scott/David Brent iteration, who’s every bit as tense and quirky as her predecessors (though fans of both the American and British Office don’t seem to be quite as impressed.)

According to the official synopsis, “Hannah Howard (Felicity Ward) is the CEO of Flinley Craddick. When she gets the news that her branch is closing to allow for remote working, she goes into survival mode and makes promises she can’t keep to keep her ‘work family’ together.”

The cast includes Edith Poor as Lizzie, who plays Dwight/Gareth; Steen Raskopoulos as sales rep Nick, who plays Tim/Jim; and Shari Sebbens as Greta, who plays Pam/Dawn (via The Hollywood Reporter).

Josh Thomson, Jonny Brugh, Susan Ling Young, Raj Labade, Lucy Schmidt, Zoe Terakes, Pallavi Sharda, Claude Jabbour and Jason Perini also star.

A spin-off of the American version of The Office is currently in the works, with creator Greg Daniels at the helm. Star Wars and Ex-Machina actor Domhnall Gleeson and The White Lotus season 2 breakout Sabrina Impacciatore will lead the cast.

The Office hits Prime Video on October 18. For more, check out our list of the best new TV shows coming in 2024 and beyond , or see our guide to the best Prime Video shows to add to your streaming list right now.
