Texas A&M football bounced back significantly in Week 2 after a disappointing home loss in the season opener against Notre Dame.

Now the Aggies (1-1) are set to open SEC play when they travel to Gainesville, Florida to take on the Florida Gators (1-1). Conner Weigman completed 11 of 14 passes for 125 yards and two touchdowns, while Le’Veon Moss and Amari Daniels had two rushing touchdowns in A&M’s 52-10 win over McNeese State last week.

Florida rebounded from a 41-17 drubbing at the hands of rival Miami in Week 1 with a 45-7 win over FCS Samford. In his first career start, true freshman DJ Lagway completed 18 of 25 passes for 456 yards and three touchdowns. Starting quarterback Graham Mertz missed the Week 2 game after being placed in the concussion protocol. He could return to the starting lineup this week.

This will be A&M’s first trip to the Swamp since 2017, when the Aggies defeated the Gators 19-17. The all-time series between the programs is tied at 3-3, with Texas A&M winning the most recent matchup 41-24 on Nov. 5, 2022. The Gators last won the series 41-38 on Oct. 10, 2020 in College Station.
