As predicted, Smackdown scored a huge hit with viewers last Friday as the series had to cancel the 2024 Olympic Games opening ceremony, which was scheduled to air later.

Smackdown drew 2,058,000 viewers for the recorded episode, down 255,000 from the previous week. This was the show’s second-least-watched episode of 2024.

The show had a 0.52 rating in the 18-49 demographic, down a whopping 0.13 from the previous week and tied for the lowest of the year. It was #2 on the chart behind the Olympics.

The Olympic ceremony drew a total of nearly 30 million viewers, more than 10 million viewers more than the Tokyo Olympics. (Rating: Programming Insider)
