SIR Keir Starmer will refuse to listen to the thugs who rebelled over immigration, The Sun on Sunday can reveal.

The prime minister will criticise “brainless thugs” for causing chaos on Britain’s streets in his first major speech since taking office.

He will tell Downing Street on Tuesday: “We have seen shocking scenes across the country.

“A thoughtless minority of thugs who thought they could get away with causing chaos.

“Destroying communities and instilling fear in minorities, vandalizing and destroying people’s property. Even trying to set fire to a building with people in it.

And as if that wasn’t despicable enough, people are shouting racist insults on our streets.

“Nazi salute at the Cenotaph, the place where we honour those who gave their lives for this country.

“Desecrating their memory under the pretext – and it is a pretext – of ‘legitimate protest.’

“Now they learn that crime has consequences.

“I will not tolerate a breakdown of law and order. And I will not listen to those who exploit grieving families.”

But shadow Home Secretary James Cleverly warned that Sir Keir cannot ignore the underlying problems on immigration.

The Conservative leadership candidate wrote in today’s Sun on Sunday: “Racist thugs are rightly jailed, but we cannot tiptoe around the underlying issues surrounding immigration.”
