Ethan Cardwell had a solid forecheck before scoring the winning goal. Luca Cagnoni and Collin Graf assisted on the Sharks’ first goal. Jack Thompson had some solid moments and showed off his excellent slap shot.

The final NHL roster is expected Monday afternoon and head coach Ryan Warsofsky’s decisions on who will make the roster won’t be easy.

After giving up the first goal of the match, San Jose came back with two goals of their own.

First, Jimmy Schuldt got a puck from a battle up front to tie the score at one.

Danil Gushchin continued his strong play and found Klim Kostin in the slot for the 2-1 lead.

Mario Ferraro and Jack Thompson chased Tomas Hertl behind the net, leaving Alexander Holtz wide open for an easy goal.

Pavel Dorofeyev gave the Knights the 3-2 score with his second goal, the third point of the evening.

Mario Ferraro tied the game at three 35 seconds into the final frame.

Mark Stone gave the Knights the lead before Dorofeyev completed the hat trick. Former Sharks center Tomas Hertl earned three assists.

With the Sharks’ net empty, Gushchin shot a puck from the point to the net and Luke Kunin tapped it in to make it 5-4.

Gushchin tapped in another Gushchin shot to tie the game at five, giving Gushchin four assists.

Cardwell scored the winning goal as the Sharks scored two goals with the empty net and another after the match was tied in regulation to win.
