Between 4pm and 9pm there is an increased risk (three on a scale of five) of extreme weather in the metro, with wind, heavy rainfall and the occasional threat of a tornado.

Of these gusts, the damaging winds appear to pose the greatest risk to the Twin Cities metropolitan area and beyond.

Humidity will drop behind the storm system, giving the metro a string of very pleasant days. Friday will be in the upper 70s, making it a #Top10WxDay. Saturday temperatures could be in the lower 80s.

Slightly cooler air moves in on Sunday and Labor Day, dropping high temperatures into the low to mid 70s — a great way to end meteorological summer. It could even be another #Top10WxDay.

Early next week it looks like it will dry up and slowly get warmer, closer to average. This could be one of the best weather periods the metropolis has experienced in a long time.
