American Sean O’Malley will defend his bantamweight title in a UFC 306 bout against Merab Dvalishvili on Saturday night at the Sphere in Las Vegas. The two competitors have exchanged verbal abuse in preparation for the fight, with O’Malley threatening to reopen a wound on Dvalishvili’s face that has only recently healed and Dvalishvili calling O’Malley’s coach a “snake” for disrespecting him.

The night of fights is being billed as Noche UFC 306 because it falls on the weekend of Mexico’s Independence Day. The main card features a women’s flyweight title fight between champion Alexa Grasso and former champion Valentina Shevchenko. The fight will be available on PPV via ESPN+ for $79.99.

This weekend also marks the first live event produced by Yahoo Sports Uncrowned, a new combat sports media brand in partnership with Ariel Helwani. Uncrowned will host a special show this Friday, September 13, live from The Yahoo Sportsbook at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas, airing at 7:00 p.m. ET/4:00 p.m. PT. Edgar Berlanga match. The show will also feature surprise guests from the combat sports world.
