LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – An Elkhorn School District employee died Wednesday in an “occupational accident,” the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office reported.

At approximately 10:20 a.m., officers and Omaha Fire Department officers arrived at the scene of Elkhorn North High School.

When emergency services arrived, they found the victim: Kevin Garrison, a maintenance worker.

He was fatally injured while working at a work site near the football field, the sheriff’s office said. An investigation is ongoing.

According to the sheriff’s office, “there was never any threat or danger to anyone” at the high school.
