MISHAWAKA, IN. (WSBT) — Saint Joseph Mishawaka Medical Center has a piece of history to honor the fallen.

Part of the World Trade Center is located in the medical center.

The community was invited to attend a memorial service on Wednesday in memory of all the victims.

“It means a lot to see the community come together, as we know with 9/11, it shook this country to the core. But it was also something, as horrible as it was, it brought us together. So, to see the community come together and support this, it shows that there is still unity within this,” said Samuel Alcala, SJHS Regional Director of Facilities, Securities, and Communications.

The event was started by veterans of Saint Joseph Health System.
