Royals-Yankees ALDS Game 2: Starting pitchers, lineups announced

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Fans will have to pay attention Monday night if they hope to catch every Kansas City Royals and Chiefs game.

First pitch for Game 2 of the ALDS from Yankee Stadium is scheduled for 6:38 PM CT.

KANSAS CITY ROYALS

Cole Ragans is scheduled to take the mound for the Royals. His last start was Tuesday against the Orioles in the Wild Card Series. Ragans left early with calf cramps in the left calf.

Ragans has already started one game at Yankee Stadium this season. He allowed two runs in six innings on September 11.

The Royals bullpen had their work cut out for them in Game 1 on Saturday. Sunday’s day off means they should be available again on Monday night.

Lucas Erceg is expected to continue in closer duties for the Royals.

NEW YORK YANKIES

For the Yankees, Carlos Rodon is expected to get the start. According to MLB.com, Rodón was 1-0 with a 2.08 ERA in two starts against the Royals this season.

He does have postseason experience, having played in two previous playoff games with the White Sox in 2020 and ’21.
