Royals player mocks Yankees’ Carlos Rodón after their ALDS Game 2 win

After a 4-2 victory Monday night in Game 2, the Royals tied the ALDS against the New York Yankees and sent the best-of-five series to Kansas City – with a little extra cockiness.

After a 4 for 5 night, including an RBI, Royals third baseman Maikel Garcia launched a stray on X off Yankees starter Carlos Rodón, who lasted 3 2/3 innings and gave up all four earned runs on seven hits. He also struck out seven and walked no one.

RESTORING THE GLORY

Garcia was responding to a Jomboy video — “oh my god Carlos Rodon” — that showed a pumped-up Rodón after a promising first inning that saw him strike out, including Garcia.

“Don’t party too early,” Garcia wrote late Monday night with the skull emoji.

Garcia, who had a .231 average and an OPS of .614 this season, continued his message by writing, “We are not afraid of anyone.”

The Royals scored all their runs in the fourth inning – a home run by Salvador Perez and singles by Tommy Pham, Garrett Hampson and Garcia to take a 4-1 lead.

Game 3 of the ALDS is Wednesday at 7:08 PM ET, and will feature Royals Seth Lugo starting against Yankees starter Clarke Schmidt.

And maybe some extra spice.
