It takes a rookie time to get used to the NFL. But 4.21 speed will always be the fastest on the field.

When the Kansas City Chiefs moved up in the first round of the NFL Draft to draft receiver Xavier Worthy, the rest of the league had to worry. It was going to be tough to put a player who set the record for the 40-yard dash at the NFL scouting combine in the league with Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes.

It took Worthy one touch to make an impact. The Chiefs gave him the ball on an end around and Worthy showed off his breathtaking speed, running right past the Baltimore Ravens defense for a 21-yard touchdown.

Expect to see Worthy kicking into high gear and making NFL athletes look slow a lot more often.

There was a Chiefs receiver who looked faster than anyone on the football field. Tyreek Hill watched and was also impressed by Worthy’s speed.

The Chiefs saw glimpses of Worthy’s playmaking ability in the preseason. They would immediately get him the ball in creative ways. The first touch became Worthy’s first touchdown.
