PlayStation Network down: Gamers rage as thousands block PSN service | Gaming | Entertainment

If you’re trying to access PlayStation services this morning and having trouble, you’re not alone. The PSN PlayStation is currently offline and not working, with thousands complaining that it has been left offline. The problems started last night and continue this morning, with Sony’s server status page indicating that major services are experiencing issues. Currently, Account Management, Gaming & Social, PlayStation Video, and PlayStation Store are all red, with PlayStation saying “Some services are experiencing issues.”

Independent website DownDetector.uk, which tracks “when services go down or goes down”, has also reported a spike in the number of people complaining that the PlayStation Network is not working properly. At its peak, around 3,500 complaints were filed, making this a major problem.

There’s currently no word on what’s causing the gremlins, but many PlayStation gamers have taken to social media platforms to vent their frustration.

A gamer named Blue posted on X (formerly Twitter) saying, “The PlayStation network is down… what do I do now.”

While PSN fan Chance added: “So I just finished a night shift getting to the PlayStation servers that are down, I just wanted to game man.”

Another PlayStation user said it’s time to switch to Nintendo with a message saying: “When the PlayStation Network goes down, it’s time to beat paper Mario on Switch!”

As of December 2023, more than 123 million users will be able to access the service every month, so it could be a long day for many who can’t play gamers or log into their accounts right now.

Sony has not yet commented on what caused the nightmare or when the issues will be resolved, but Express.co.uk will keep you posted.
