Instead of being the recipient, Playboi is giving Carti a gift for all of his fans on his 29th birthday. Carti released his first song to hit streaming services since 2020 with the bloody “All Red” on Friday (Sept. 13).

Carti surprised fans when rumors of a possible single started circulating. Shortly after it was posted to YouTube, “All Red” did indeed appear on DSPs.

“THIS 1 FOR YOU, I CAN’T LIE,” Carti wrote on his Opium label’s Instagram page.

The Atlanta rapper reconnects with frequent collaborator F1lthy, who handles the chaotic production. “Upside-down cross tat’ on my neck, shut ’em up, uh/ The Bentley parked outside, my vibe tryna take a ride/ I put VETEMENTS on her thighs, I put the mask on ’cause I’m gettin’ fried,” he raps.

Carti is no stranger to mixing up his vocals, and he dropped the pitch of his voice again here. Some compared his flow on “All Red” to sounding like Future. “Playboi Carti was definitely inspired by Future on “ALL RED”, crazy how much influence Future has on all these rappers,” one fan wrote.

Another said: “All joking aside, the new Carti sounds like the future.”

There are finally some signs of Playboi Carti’s long-awaited I am music album in the pipeline. He posted several vinyl covers for the project on his Instagram and directed fans to his website.

Carti’s web store sells digital albums along with merchandise packs, but no release date has been announced yet and the release date isn’t until October 2025.

PBC t-shirt bundles are available for $50 while pre-orders for the I am music Hat and hoodie packs are available for purchase for $65 and $100 plus fees, respectively.

“All Red” is Carti’s first streaming release since 2020 Very much red. Although he has released a number of singles on his YouTube page over the past year, such as “Backr00ms” featuring Travis Scott, “2024”, “Evil J0rdan”, “Ketamine”, “H00dbyair” and “Different Day”.

Playboi Carti was honored at Billboard‘s 2024 R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players event in New York last week with the Artist of the Year award.

He made a rare public appearance to accept the award. “I want to thank my mother, I want to thank God,” he began his speech. “Thank you Billboard — This is my first award. Very happy to be here. RIP Rich Homie Quan. ATL in the building. Shout out to all of New York. I love you all. Thank you.”
