Patrick Mahomes appreciates baseball excellence when he sees it.

After New York Yankees outfielders Juan Soto, Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton made two consecutive starts against the Colorado Rockies on Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and minority owner of the Kansas City Royals expressed his surprise at the performance.

The trio are the first Yankees players to play in back-to-back games since 2020. The feat came in the seventh inning.

It was Judge’s 51st home run of the year and his second of the game. It was Soto’s 37th home run and Stanton’s 23rd.

The Yankees swept the Rockies 10-3 to improve to 76-54 on the season. They hold a 0.5-game lead over the Baltimore Orioles for the AL East and have the best overall record in MLB.

While Mahomes will focus on the upcoming 2024 NFL season, his Royals could be ready to take on New York in the postseason. Kansas City is currently 72-57 and in a Wild Card spot heading into the final month of the regular season.
