The Carolina Panthers open their season visiting the New Orleans Saints. 2024 and the Bryce Young Redemption Tour kick off here. It’s also year one of the Dave Canales Experiment. The question of whether sheer will and self-belief can drive a team to compete is about to be answered.

This off-season has shown a quieter positivity compared to last year’s PR train that displayed confidence and superior competence on every airwave. Whether that will translate to a different result on the pitch is something we can learn more about in a few minutes.

I’m tempering my expectations for today. It’s always hard to draw conclusions based on one match. I just hope we get to see that first Young-Xavier Legette connection. That could be the birth of a special relationship.
