Packers Inactives: Green Bay is down two cornerbacks against Vikings

The Green Bay Packers had to answer two big injury questions this weekend. The first is whether quarterback Jordan Love, who is dealing with an MCL sprain, would finally return to the field in Week 4. The other question was how many cornerbacks they would have against the Minnesota Vikings, as Carrington Valentine was listed. on Friday as questionable, while Jaire Alexander was listed as doubtful.

Love will indeed suit Green Bay today. Even the team’s inactives announcement notes that Love is in the starting lineup today – so Love won’t be some sort of emergency backup quarterback.

Unfortunately, both Valentine and Alexander will be out against the Vikings, which somewhat negates the good news we got on the love front this week. Without Valentine and Alexander, starting cornerback opposite Eric Stokes is a bit of a question mark. Keisean Nixon, who normally plays infield, was at outside cornerback this summer. However, does the team really want to move their slot corner? If they want to keep Nixon in the slot, their next cornerback option is likely Corey Ballentine, who has played one defensive tackle for the Packers this season.

Green Bay called up two cornerbacks to the practice squad on Saturday in Robert Rochell and Kamal Hadden. Hadden, a former 2024 draft pick of the Kansas City Chiefs, will make his Packers debut today.
