The Omaha Public Power District reports that crews are using drones this week to inspect several substations in its service area.

The inspections will continue through Thursday, but the schedule may change depending on weather conditions.

The district says it regularly uses helicopters and drones to inspect infrastructure.

The utility says the contractor for this work will notify local airports and aviation authorities of the locations where the drone flights will be conducted.
