LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas police have arrested the driver in a fatal collision with a pedestrian.

According to police, the crash happened near Harmon Avenue and La Mar Circle around 4:07 p.m.

According to police, the car left before police could arrive.

Police say the driver was traveling eastbound when he struck a cyclist.

Police said the pedestrian suffered a serious head injury and was taken to UMC Hospital, where he later died.

The LVMPD Real-time Crime Center assisted in locating the vehicle.

Lanes in both directions on Harmon from Koval to Paradise remain closed.

Drivers should expect delays in the area.

“Avoid the area due to road closures,” police said. “This is an ongoing investigation.”
