Omaha Metro Thursday Schedule Adjusted Due to Forecast

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The weather forecast has forced a shift in the start time for Nebraska’s opening week of high school football.

While it’s normally “Friday Night Lights,” the action kicks off on Thursday, with reigning Nebraska Class A state champion Westside hosting Omaha North, as well as another Class A clash between Gretna and Elkhorn.

Both games were originally scheduled to start at 7 p.m., but kickoff has been moved to 4 p.m. due to the threat of inclement weather in metro Omaha on Thursday evening.

Elkhorn South @ Lincoln East has also been moved, from 7pm to 4:30pm

The rest of the Week 1 schedule kicks off on Friday, and the 6 Sports team is back for another season of “Friday Night Fever” — a highlight show from the biggest games in metro Omaha. 6 News will also keep you updated all season long with High School Scoreboard, keeping you up to date with scores and results from games across eastern Nebraska and western Iowa.
