COLUMBUS, Ohio — The scoreboard told one story. The play on the field told one that wasn’t so optimistic.

Ohio State defeated Marshall 49-14 on Saturday at Ohio Stadium to extend its record to 3-0 and add a lopsided victory to its season total. The offense looked so sharp it was barely on the field, as the rushing game was dominant in a way it hadn’t been all season. The receivers looked that way, too, acting as a scoring threat every time they touched the ball.
