Ohio State Football vs. Marshall: Game Time Decisions for Week 4

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State returns to the field to close out the non-conference portion of its 2024 schedule with a home game against Marshall.

Only this time, the Buckeyes are hoping things don’t go the same way as their last “official” victory over the Thundering Herd. That was in 2004, when it took a 55-yard game-winning field goal from Mike Nugent to secure a 24-21 victory. Technically, there was also a 45-7 victory in 2010, but that win has since been undone as part of Tattoogate.

The roster 20 years later is probably more talented on both sides of the ball than it was under Jim Tressel. The gap between OSU and Marshall this season is just as wide, too. That means a last-second field goal is probably off the table.

This team is aiming for a national title and to achieve that, you have to win matches where you are the favorite.

With another chance to do so on Saturday, Stephen Means, Stefan Krajisnik and Andrew Gillis will each be looking for something specific in the matchup. Watch the video below to see what intrigues the crew in Week 4.
