Officials miss an obvious pass interference call, Kalen DeBoer reacted angrily

Kalen DeBoer don’t have to worry too much Alabama dominates Georgia in Tuscaloosa by a score of 30-7. However, the lead could have been much bigger had it not been for a missed pass interference call late in the second quarter. DeBoer wasn’t too happy on the sidelines and begged the officials to throw the flag.

Georgia defensive back Daniel Harris was a little early after that Jalen Milroe threw to Germie Bernard on a third-down pass. The call would have given Alabama a first down and a chance to score another touchdown or, at worst, get a field goal before halftime.

DeBoer was hot and ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit understood why. It’s not often we see DeBoer like that, usually a little quieter on the sidelines. Herbstreit loved seeing the intensity from Alabama’s head coach despite leading by 23 points.

“Here you go, for Alabama fans,” Herbstreit said. “He’s so gentle with the media and when you see him talk. There’s that competitive spirit that shows up. He’s excited… Whenever you see Kalen DeBoer get so animated, it’s usually for a good reason. He’s not going to do that just to do that. He’s going to do that when he feels like he has a right to be upset.”

You can see the full emotion of DeBoer and the Alabama sideline here.

When the clock hit zero in the first half, a scuffle ensued on the sideline between the two teams. Alabama was called for an unsportsmanlike penalty, with offensive lineman Miles McVay be the culprit. Now a 15-yard penalty awaits the Crimson Tide at the other end.

DeBoer could end up being one of the unluckiest head coaches if he goes into halftime with a three-score lead. A bad penalty from your own team and a missed call from the referees are more than enough to get the job done.
