Oasis reunion ends 15-year feud after nasty backstage brawl: ‘Guns have gone silent’

Members of iconic British rock band Oasis have put aside their differences after 15 years.

The “Wonderwall” singers and brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher have ended their 15-year feud and are back on stage together for a world tour.

“Oasis today end years of fevered speculation with the confirmation of a long-awaited run of UK and Ireland shows,” the band’s website said.

“The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised.”

Alongside their statement, Oasis shared a video montage of their previous performances featuring an exuberant crowd at their popular concerts.

“Liam and I are telepathic, if you know what I mean,” the video clip shared to Instagram began.

The “Don’t Look Back in Anger” singers’ announcement comes after they surprisingly split nearly 15 years ago.

Oasis split in 2009 after years of internal strife. Noel officially left the band just before a performance at a festival near Paris.

The brothers had an adversarial relationship before the split and reportedly did not speak to each other for years.

“People write and say what they want, but I simply couldn’t work with Liam one more day,” Noel, the band’s guitarist and songwriter, wrote in a statement at the time of the split.

Although the Gallagher brothers have not performed together since, they both regularly play Oasis songs during their solo performances. They have also both criticized each other in the press.

Noel accused his younger brother of being hungover, causing them to cancel a concert in 2009. The frontman disputed the accusation and filed a lawsuit, but later dropped the lawsuit.

In 2011, Noel told The Associated Press in an interview that he left the band after an incident in which Liam began wielding a guitar “like it was an axe… and he swung that guitar around and he just kind of smashed my face in with it, you know?

“The main thing is that he and I are brothers,” he said. “He thinks I’m desperate to get the band back together for money. But I didn’t join the band to make money. I joined the band to have fun and see the world.”

“I don’t know what his problem is,” he continued. “I think he just wanted to go away and start his solo career, make all the money and be surrounded by all the yes-men that you can fire and hire whenever you want. You can’t do that with me.”

But now the brothers are preparing to reunite, with the band saying fans will experience “the spark and intensity” that only comes from sharing the stage together.

Oasis will kick off their tour on July 4th and 5th, 2025 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.

The British rock band will also perform in Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin.

“There are plans to bring OASIS LIVE ’25 to other continents outside of Europe later next year,” their website states.
