NL Wild Card Series Game Thread #1: Milwaukee Brewers vs. New York Mets

It’s finally time for postseason baseball in Milwaukee. For the third time in four seasons, the Brewers will host a postseason series to kick off the playoffs, but they’re hoping for much better results this time.

Freddy Peralta was the starter on Opening Day and he also gets credit for game one of the postseason. He hasn’t faced the Mets since Opening Day in New York, but started the season well with just one run allowed in six innings.

Opposite him is Luis Severino, who also faced the Brewers in that opening series, but was less successful. He allowed six runs (three earned) in five innings in game two of the season. Severino is one of the few Mets who has been rested, with his last game coming on September 24.

In the Game One lineup, Sal Frelick is back after his hard collision in Friday’s game against the Mets. He will be eighth in what has become the usual lineup for Pat Murphy. There are no other surprises in today’s lineup.

Here are the starters for this afternoon’s game. The first pitch is at 4:32 PM on ESPN and the Brewers Radio Network.
