Nick Saban Drops Well-Timed Swearword on ‘College GameDay’ in Response to Ohio State’s $20 Million Team

Nick Saban is off to a strong start to his “College GameDay” era — with some foul language, mind you.

The former Alabama coach, who joined “College GameDay” after retiring at the end of last season, dropped a legitimate curse Saturday when talking about Ohio State.

“I’m just saying, you guys keep talking about a $20 million roster,” Saban said. “If you don’t pay the right guys, you’re out of luck.”

The unexpected curse prompted a fit of laughter from Saban’s GameDay colleagues.

Ohio State enters this season with a highly touted roster, built with a $20 million NIL war chest — an unprecedented amount for a college squad. Urban Meyer, himself a former coach turned broadcaster, raised expectations even further by calling this Ohio State team “one of the most talented squads of the past decade, if not ever.”

Saban clearly doesn’t believe it and is willing to use a curse word that doesn’t suit him at all to prove it.

Ohio State is No. 2 behind Georgia. After three weeks of cupcakes, the Buckeyes will face their first ranked opponent (No. 25 Iowa) in Week 5 and their first major challenge (No. 3 Oregon) in Week 6. By then, we should know if that selection is worth every penny — or if Ohio State is just plain unlucky.
