The first Sunday of the 2024 NFL season started with a bang in Miami, as the Dolphins and Jaguars played out a thriller in Miami. Jason Sanders connected on a 52-yard field goal as time expired to give Miami a 20-17 victory. Tyreek Hill, who was detained by police before the game, caught an 80-yard touchdown pass from Tua Tagovailoa as part of a seven-catch, 130-yard performance.

In Chicago, No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams earned a win in his first start, though it was the defense and special teams that did the heavy lifting for the Bears. Williams threw for just 92 yards, but the Bears returned a blocked punt and interception for touchdowns in a 24-17 victory over the Titans.
