Nebraska Football Quarterback Dylan Raiola After the game; Cornhuskers lose to Illin

Nebraska football quarterback Dylan Raiola spoke to the media after a 31-24 overtime loss to Illinois. The Huskers fall to 3-1 on the season.

You can watch the full performance above. Below is some of what Raiola had to say.

About what he saw at the end of the fourth quarter

“I saw Luke (Lindenmeyer) completely free. I don’t know. I missed the shot to win the game. I mean, that was our chance to win the game. I’m taking this game on my shoulders and I’ve got to get better and be better for our team. I put us in a position to win.”

Direct takeaways from the first Big Ten game

“It was nothing different. Same old football. It’s no different football than playing in the Big Ten and playing in other conferences. It was fine. It was fun. Great atmosphere. We came up short.”

About the performance of the defense

“It’s not really the defense’s fault. It’s our job to score, no matter what. They had a well-oiled machine on offense. Their quarterback played his ass off. Kudos to them for that. They had a great game plan. There’s really no added pressure. It just comes down to execution. I think our defense played really well. There’s little things that we obviously want to get back and change the game.”
