The miracle of the liquefaction of the blood of San Gennaro was repeated. At 10:01, in the cathedral of the Duomo, crowded despite the rain, the Archbishop Don Mimmo Battaglia announced that the blood of San Gennaro has liquefied.

Gennaro was a Roman bishop and Christian martyr, venerated as a saint by the Catholic Church, which celebrates his cult on September 19, and by the Orthodox Church. The principal patron of Naples, in whose cathedral some of his skeletal bones are said to lie, together with two ampoules which, according to popular tradition, contain his blood, his figure has historically been the object of veneration and folklore.

There are people who believe that the phenomenon of dissolving the bloodthat ritual is performed on September 19 and December 16, is attributed to a miracle and a harbinger of good fortune.
