MSU hopes not to fall behind Utah Tech after FBS win

Montana State University (1-0) travels to Utah Tech on Saturday for the Bobcats’ second game of the season and the Trailblazers’ season opener.

This marks MSU’s first-ever trip to St. George, as the team secured a 3-0 victory over Utah Tech.

The Bobcats defeated the Trailblazers 63-20 to start the 2023 season, but this UT team looks different with a new coaching staff and an overhaul of the roster through the transfer portal.

MSU is coming off its first FBS win since 2006 after the Bobcats came from behind to beat New Mexico 35-31 in Week 0. However, the team is not looking to repeat history like the 2006 team.

After beating Colorado 19-10 in Week 1, Montana State fell to Chadron State and former NFL running back Danny Woodhead 35-24 in its Division II season opener.

The Bobcats will have to adjust during the game, as there are many unknowns on the Trailblazers team, and they will also have to adjust to the summer desert heat once again.

The expected temperature at kick-off on Thursday is 33 degrees Celsius.

Kick-off is on Saturday at 8pm
